Your profile is your introduction to a woman or couple planning to place a child for adoption. Your agency shows or mails it to expectant parents for their consideration of your family as the family for their child, and it will be the first contact between you and the woman or couple who may be instrumental in making your dreams of a child come true.

Profiles can be created as notebooks, scrapbooks, albums, or a combination of paper and media like a family video. Your agency may have specific requirements for the look and type of information to include, or you may have free rein to create a profile of your own design, but whatever you create, you will generally need to make more than one, so ask your agency how many copies they require or recommend.

Profiles generally include:
  • information about yourselves, your interests, and your families,
  • one or more photographs
  • a letter to the prospective birthparent(s)
Greater Exposure on the Internet

In addition to the paper version of your profile, the Internet has become an exciting medium for exposure to a greater number of potential birthparents.

Unlike the paper version which is generally shown to one placing parent at a time who is brought to the attention of your agency, your profile on the Internet can be accessed from around the country, by any number of potential birthparents. And the key to success with an Internet profile is two-fold:
  1. A well-done profile that is warm, welcoming, and genuine
  2. Placement on the Net where it will get the greatest exposure

ParentProfiles.com, a service of Adoption Profiles, LLC, is the best way to take a proactive role in your adoption journey. Take advantage of the widest possible Internet exposure and create your online introduction now.
